Bad news for McLeod's Daughters fans

Earlier in the month it was announced that McLeod's Daughtersmight be getting a possible reboot, much to the delight of fans of the Australian drama.

But on Saturday, the show creator Posie Graeme-Evans sadly confirmed the deal with the Nine Network had fallen through.

Citing “creative differences” for the failed deal, the 65-year-old novelist took to Facebook to share the disappointing news in a lengthy post.

“I am writing this post to you to let you know that our negotiations with the Nine Network in Australia and a third party, introduced to us by Nine - and for whom the Sequel mini-series would have been made, as it turned out - have now concluded because we've pulled out,” she said.

“Why? Well, creative differences happen all the time in our business - there’s no shame in that - and that's been the case here.”

“We feel that our potential new partners and ourselves turned out to see ‘McLeods’ very differently; and, we were concerned that the tone and substance of the sequel story might alter too much from what people love about the series. This was not something we felt we could agree to,” she continued.

Earlier in the month, Posie took to Facebook to share her vision for the reboot.

“If all goes well, and we can agree on how we might work together, a couple of people who were crucial; to the show from the very beginning of its life will join me here in Tasmania to explore what we might have happened at Drovers Run in the years we've all been away,” she said.
