Stunning winners of 2022 iPhone Photography awards

The winners of the 2022 iPhone Photography Awards have been announced, with these talented photographers showing how the Apple smartphone can be used to the best of its ability.

The annual awards, which is in its 15th year, received "thousands of submissions from all over the world", with many of this year’s winning photographs depicting "beauty rising out of isolation" and honouring "photography’s ability to build bridges across lost connections", according to the judges.

Awards were given out in several categories, including abstract, animals, architecture, children, city life, environment, landscape, lifestyle, nature, other, people, portrait, series, still life, sunset and travel.

The overall winner of the competition was Italian photographer Antonio Denti, who captured a poignant picture of a child and a solider in Iraq, described as a "moment of tenderness in the dusty rubble of war".

Commenting on the winners, jury member Whitney Van Nes says, "With images that appreciate the sublime and the beautiful, this year’s winning photographers share a strength of spirit in the face of our unnerving world."

"Congratulations to all the winners and your awareness in the moment that life is happening."
