Nicole Kidman shows off incredible singing voice

Nicole Kidman has reminded fans that she not only acts, but she sings spectacularly too.

The Undoing actress, 53, leant her vocals to the TV show's title track after her director Susanne Bier persuaded her.

Kidman posted a video of her singing the song 'Dream A Little Dream Of Me' on Instagram.

She went on to explain that Bier called her to say, "I've had an idea — I want you to record the title sequence."

"I was like, 'Absolutely not'," Kidman responded, before adding, "Then she said 'You have to. And I went 'OK'."

While many may not know she has some serious vocal chops, this is not her first public performance.

She sang in the musicals Moulin Rouge and Nine.

Despite her previous experience, she told The Sydney Morning Herald that she was incredibly nervous.

"I can't do with my voice what I can do when I act and that's very frustrating," Kidman said.

"With performance, there's the possibility I may not get there. But at least I know I can try to reach it. With voice, I just can't. I wish I could sing what I feel."

In an interview on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 show, Kidman explained the thought process behind recording the track.

"We were in lockdown. We were in Tennessee, in Nashville, and the director sent me a text going, 'Would you sing the title track, 'Dream a Little Dream,' to the series?'" Kidman said.

"I was like, 'What? No, I so don't want to do that. My voice is not good,' which is always my reaction, and she said, 'No, no, I think you can sing it.'"

Kidman has been married to musician Keith Urban since 2006.

Urban helped her by offering their home studio to record the track. "We laid it down and sent it in, and they mixed it so it ended up in the series," she said.

"I don't know if that's a good or bad thing."
