Keith Richards sells luxury New York penthouse at a loss for $14 million

Rock legend Keith Richards has finally sold his Greenwich Village penthouse in New York for US$9.95 million (NZ$14.2 million), four years after he bought the luxury home with model wife Patti Hansen.

The Rolling Stones guitarist, who purchased the Fifth Avenue home for US$10.5 million (NZ$15.1 million) in 2014, had listed the home at a lower price after it failed to sell in 2016 at the asking price of US$12.23 million.

The penthouse features a 47-foot-long living, dining and entertainment space. There are four bedrooms, two on each floor, and each boast en suite bathrooms.

The master suite also features two walk-in wardrobes, whilst the home has access to three private terraces with views of New York City and Washington Square Park.
