Scott Eastwood: Making it in Hollywood was “tough”

He’s the son of one of the most iconic actors in Hollywood history, but Scott Eastwood says he hasn’t relied on his lookalike dad, Clint, to find his feet in the film industry.

Talking to Yahoo Be to promote his upcoming film, Pacific Rim Rising, Scott said his success is all down to his own hard work.

“It’s hard,” he confessed. “Hollywood’s a tough place. There’s so many great actors out there and there’s so many talented people but it's a lot of a number’s game.

“You’ve gotta just keep going on auditions. You’ve gotta keep going and keep trying and I did that for years and years. It’s tough. It can be discouraging.”

Despite growing up surrounded by the film industry, Scott admitted he had no idea what to expect or how much work was really required to be in show business until he got into it himself.

“Did I know anything about the industry really? Not until I started working in it. Not until I had to go and bartend and valet park cars and work construction while I auditioned for films. Then you know what hard work is to get into a film and try to be an actor.”
