Downton Abbey: A New Era full teaser FINALLY released
Only a week ago, it was announced that the new teaser trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era would only be shown in cinemas ahead of showings of Belfast.
Fortunately, those of us that haven’t been to the cinema can now enjoy it from home, with the release of the footage online.
With the release of the new trailer, more of the film’s plot has been revealed.
Specifically, Dame Maggie Smith’s Violet Crawley reveals that she had a casual fling in the past that has resulted in her inheriting a French Villa.

Plus, the family are gearing up to welcome a royal visitor to the estate.
The film also promises to include the wedding of assistant cook Daisy Mason to footman Andrew Parker.

The list of returning faces includes: Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham), Laura Carmichael (Lady Grantham), Jim Carter (Charles Carson), Brendan Coyle (Mr Bates), Michelle Dockery (Lady Crawley) and Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates).

Joining them are newcomers Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy), Nathalie Baye (Catch Me If You Can), and Dominic West (The Wire).
Directed by Simon Curtis and scripted by Julian Fellows, Downton Abbey: A New Era is due to arrive in cinemas on March 18, 2022.
