Celine Dion's grand entrance in shimmering showstopping number at Met Gala

She took to the stage for eight years in Las Vegas, and now, Celine Dion has proven that she is still the ultimate performer.

The 51-year-old stepped out for the Met Gala in a shimmering number, which according to E!, weighed a heavy 10 kilograms.

The My Heart Will Go On singer opted for the Oscar de la Renta gown which was covered top-to-bottom in sequins, champagne-coloured tassels and all-round extravagance.

She then finished off her look with a pair of T-strap shoes, chandelier earrings and dazzling rings.

The Grammy-winner went for a dramatic makeup look with smokey eyeliner and bright gold eyeshadow.

She kept the rest of her face quite neutral, opting for a nude lip.

The Met Gala is an annual fashion event where those invited are asked to stick to a particular theme. This year, attendees were told the look of the evening was Camp: Notes on Fashion.

Camp is defined as over-the-top extravagance, which seems obvious after scrolling through the looks on the Met carpet.

Speaking to E!, Celine said that she was grateful for the team that brought her look together.

“My look tonight is Oscar de la Renta....Everybody who was part of it put their hearts into it. It was to try to make it something magical. I don't want to take it off! I'm gonna to go to bed in it tonight.”
