Everybody loves a movie that has both an exceptional story and the ability to make you laugh.
In recent times, very few comedies are receiving industry recognition for their quality.
BBC Culture asked 253 film critics from six different continents to share what 10 comedies they think are the greatest.
Films from any country were eligible and there was no definition of “comedy” for the critics to adhere to.
