Making a great present for teenagers, children and adults alike, mums from across the country have been sharing the different ways they’ve transformed the photo frame.

“Thanks for the inspiration ladies this is for my nephew’s 14th birthday,” wrote one user alongside an image of the photo frame filled with her nephew’s favourite lollies.

They go by the name of shadow box gifts.

Because the frame is deeper than a regular photo frame, you can fill it up with whatever you fancy, whether it’s lollies or other bits and bobs.

It makes the perfect gift for those who enjoy being creative without breaking the bank.

Users in the Facebook group were visibly impressed by all the images floating around of the shadow box, with people commenting “how cool is that” and “awesome” alongside countless comments of women asking how they could create the same at home.

Some women chose to showcase their children’s first outfits making the frame into memorabilia, with one woman saying: “Shadow boxes I made for my 13, 5- and 1-year old tonight … Always wanted to do something good with their first outfits and hospital keepsakes.”
