Son makes mother’s art famous

Mason Petty, a communications student from the University of Southern Indiana, shared a tweet of a nature scene his mother painted.

To his followers on Twitter, he captioned the painting, “Come on Twitter, let’s get my mum famous.”

In a follow-up tweet he explained a bit about his mother’s life and what inspired her to start painting.

Mason wrote, “So people have been asking about my mum’s story. Her name is Arleen Petty, a single mother with three kids and she has provided the world for all of us. You will not meet a person that has a better attitude and outlook on the world. She recently just started painting and her inspiration was obviously Bob Ross. Thank you to everyone, she deserves every bit of this and all the credit.”

He thanked Twitter for the support of his mother’s art with her painting being retweeted 56, 000 times.

After the overwhelming response Mason’s mum received, other users have commented pictures of their parent’s artworks. One user even suggested that Mason’s mum and her dad should do a collaboration artwork.

A twitter user commented a painting his dad had done and said, “So why ain’t my dad famous.”
