"A perfect day": Bert and Patti Newton's sweet new family photo
It was only a few months ago when Bert and Patti Newton welcomed their fifth grandchild, Perla Welsh.
Now, Patti has shared a new picture from the celebration of the baby’s christening.
“A perfect day celebrating our precious Perla’s Christening,” Patti wrote on an Instagram post on Wednesday, along with a picture of her holding her granddaughter with Bert smiling on her side.
Perla is the fifth child of Bert and Patti’s daughter Lauren Newton. The 40-year-old mother and her husband, former Olympic swimmer Matt Welsh, are also parents to 11-year-old Sam, nine-year-old Eva, six-year-old Lola, and two-year-old Monty.
Perla, the latest addition to the family, arrived on January 3.
In an Instagram post, Lauren shared that her daughter was wearing the same christening dress that she donned decades ago.
“Wearing the same dress I wore 40 years ago and with the same wonderful Priest Father Dowling,” the mother-of-five wrote. “Such a special day.”
