1. Holding a grudge

Estranged from your sibling, adult child or old friend? Think back on what it was that led you to separate and ask yourself – does it really matter? Is holding this grudge worth the resentment and years in lost companionship? If the answer is no, be the bigger person and reach out. Chances are, they’ll be incredibly appreciative of the effort you’ve taken.

2. Saying “no” to finding love

It might be nothing, but if it’s something serious, catching it early could save your life.

4. Being afraid to try new things

When you reach your 60s, you’ve had so many different life experiences, tried so many different things and met so many different people. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop anytime soon. Any opportunity to try something new – even if it sounds a bit daunting – take it. You never want to get to the end of your life and look back, thinking, “What if?”

5. Wasting time

Life is short and time is precious – you don’t want to spend too much with the wrong people or doing things that don’t make you happy. It’s time to cut out toxic people from your life and focus on those that make your days brighter. Likewise, ditch any hobbies or activities that don’t bring you joy and replace them with new, exciting things that make you excited to get out of bed in the morning.

6. Staying quiet

Never be afraid to speak your mind – particularly when it comes to expressing your feelings. Tell the people you love that you love them, tell the people you appreciate that you appreciate them. Always speak up if you want your voice to be heard and never think your opinion isn’t important. You’ll never regret standing up for what you believe in and are passionate about.
